Mohammad Yousaf, Younis Khan handed lifetime bans, while Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved banned for one year!

Younis khan Mohammad Yousaf Shoaib Malik Rana Naveed banned Mohammad Yousaf, Younis Khan handed lifetime bans, while Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved banned for one year!

Pakistan cricket, which is already at an all-time low, has been rocked by the decisions taken by PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) this morning. Acting on recommendations forwarded by the inquiry committee, PCB has taken extreme actions against Pakistani cricketers, which include lifetime bans and heavy fines. Here are the details:

- Mohammad Yousaf and Younis Khan have been given lifetime bans from all forms of cricket. This means they will not be able to even play domestic cricket. [Update: (5:15 PM, 10 March, 2010) According to the latest statement by PCB, Yousuf and Younis have not been handed lifetime bans, in fact they have been axed from the team indefinitely. Although the PCB is suggesting that media misunderstood the details of the decision, but this seems like a U-turn from PCB]

- Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan have been banned for one year from Pakistan team. however, they are allowed to take part in domestic competitions. Both Shoaib and Rana each have been fined Rs 2 million as well.

- Shahid Afridi has been fined Rs 3 million for ball-tempering.

- Kamran Akmal and Umer Akmal have been fined Rs 3 million and Rs 2 million respectively for disciplinary issues.

- Afridi and Akmal brothers have been given strict warnings and will be under 6 months probation period.

- The players have the right to appeal against these punishments.
