2010 version of Indian Premier League (IPL) starts today. While cricket fans around the World are looking forward to the competition, the mood is quite different in Pakistan, home of the the raining T20 World champs. Unlike previous two years, there are no fancy promo videos on Geo Super, and the people of Pakistan also look less interested.

Since the snub of Pakistani players, Cable Operators Association of Pakistan (CAP) has already announced that none of the IPL-3 matches will be shown in Pakistan. Geo Super, which previously aired IPL in Pakistan, has also opted not to broadcast the mega event. The official IPL site lists Sony Set Max as the official broadcast partner for Pakistan, but that is irrelevant due to the blackout imposed by CAP. Cable operators will also need to take SuperSport offline, as the South African channel is available in Pakistan and holds rights for IPL.
